Cloud Imperium Games is looking for a barista to manage, maintain and develop Ellroy’s (our in-house barista counter), providing our team with hot beverages in a friendly welcoming environment. Responsible for the organisation and cleanliness of the section, as well as stock ordering and control.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Handle all aspects of Ellroy’s – our in-house Barista counter.
  • Make and serve a full range of espresso-based coffee from a commercial coffee machine, teas, tisanes, caffeine free drinks and seasonal extras such as smoothies and hot chocolate.
  • Stock and maintain and ensure the Barista area kept clean and tidy workspace; taking responsibility for all product orders, cleaning cups and loading dish washer etc.
  • Provide training to colleagues for use with machines, drink preparations and opening/closing procedures.
  • Review invoices against purchase orders.
  • There may be additional duties, assisting with the workplace team on any reasonable matters.
  • Assisting with front of house during busy times and for holiday cover.

  • Perform any other delegated duties considered appropriate in line with the role.

Experience and skills

  • Carries a UK Food Hygiene Certificate – Level 2 or higher
  • Understands every aspect of coffee, from bean to cup
  • One year of experience in coffee preparation (essential)
  • Prior experience working within a similar role is desirable
  • Ability to work to meet deadlines with little or no supervision
  • Exceptional organisational ability and hygiene diligence
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proactive attitude with flexibility to adapt to changing business needs and seasonal promotions
  • Reliable
    A dedication to quality, always finding ways to improve the offer to the team with attention to detail
  • Basic Level Experience with Microsoft Office software, in particular Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Experience with task tracking software such as Jira would be advantageous although training will be provided
