The Tools Team at Foundry 42 develop and support a wide variety of tools to make life easier for the talented developers of Star Citizen. Working closely with Designers, Artists, Engineers, QA and Production, the team delivers tools and systems for automated testing, process support, data management, team co-ordination and more. We are currently looking for an enthusiastic, self-starting Tools Programmer to join us.
Foundry 42 is the European studio of Cloud Imperium Games, developers of the Star Citizen MMO and Squadron 42 single player game. We are crowdfunded and have a dedicated and enthusiastic community of backers who refer to game as the “Best Damn Space Sim Ever”.
Based in Wilmslow (next door to Manchester), the main UK studio is a vibrant team of over 250 people working in a relaxed and collegiate atmosphere side-by-side with our sister studios in Derby, Frankfurt, Austin TX and Los Angeles. The role entails working on a wide variety of our in-house tools using both desktop and web technologies; supporting our users to ensure they get the best out of our work; keeping up to date with new technologies, SDKs and frameworks; and delivering a great user experience.
Responsibilities will include adding new features to existing tools, bug-fixing, keeping documentation up to date, providing realistic estimates for work involved in all tasks and supporting the rest of the Tools Team on all projects.
The successful candidate will have some commercial experience along with a passion for developing software; an eagerness to learn and improve themselves; work well in a co-operative team environment; and be keen to get their hands dirty dealing with large and/or legacy code-bases.
Degree plus one-year post-grad commercial, or two years commercial
Key Skills: C# & WPF, JSON or XML, strong interpersonal, Fluent English.
Bonus Skills: Agile, Database, HTML/CSS, C++/Qt.
